Σεβασμιώτατε Μετροπολιτης Ευανγελος,
Thank you very much for answering my previous letter.  After a lot of thought and prayer, I am writing to you again.  I thank you very much for telling me that I can have a workshop to discuss my thoughts and concerns regarding the Holy Synod of Crete.  I do not believe that I am the right person that can do such big works.  We need someone with a deeper understanding to speak to the people to answer the questions they have.  I would like to express my personal thoughts to you about the things that I see, hear and read regarding the changes that have come to the Orthodoxy of the New Era, Nea Epohe.
I believe we should speak clearly and truthfully, because only with the truth will we present ourselves in front of Christ for judgment.  We have the Holy Fathers of the Church who are always teaching us the true path to God and everything else we encounter in life.  Now, in the new era, they speak to us about οἰκουμενισμό.  They say to us that all men are brothers, and that is true.  But there also exists a spiritual brother hood, and the Holy Fathers are teaching us that we cannot be brothers spiritually with ετερώδοχους because we have different spiritual beliefs than them.   The οἰκουμενισμός is telling us that we must get together with brotherly love and philanthropy because we all believe in the same God, and to forget the old and unite ourselves together with something new.  I believe that is from the devil, who is trying to mislead us.  We can never have togetherness because we do not have the same beliefs, the same truth, the same love, the same worship for Christ. How can we go against the Holy Fathers of the church, who resurrected the dead, healed the sick, and who spilled their blood for their faith which they passed on to us.  Our Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  We accept those who are outside of the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church when they repent for their heresy, coming together in one faith and in one truth, not to ecumonistic truth and faith that accepts everyone and their “truths” and heresies.   How can we believe that all the saints that spoke against the heretics and against all of the other religions, did not have love for their fellow man?  This is what it seems that some are saying today.
Three of the enemies of Orthodoxy were, and continue to be, the Jews, the Muslims, and the Pope of Rome.  Our Lord Jesus Christ says the Jews are the synagogue of Satan, who persecuted the apostles of Christ everywhere, and continue to do so still today.  The Muslims destroyed Byzantium, making us slaves to the Ottoman Empire for 400 years. With the grace of God, the priests, monks, and apostles, like the saint Αγιο Κοσμα Αετολο, hold the Orthodox Church together.  The Pope of Rome did worse things. Twice they sacked Constantinople (where I believe my roots are, from my father’s ancestor of the 17th century, Pantelaras).  In the 15th century, they said they would help us against the Ottomans, but,  only if we worshiped the Pope of Rome.  Thankfully Saint Marcos o’Eugenikos saved us.   They stole Holy Relics of Saints and everything valuable, including the doors of Agia Sophia. Later on they brought ἰουνισμὀ, which meant we could stay as we were with all our cannons and dogma, but we would have to honor the Pope of Rome.  I am asking, have these enemies of Christ and Panagia changed?  Have today’s Jews stopped persecuting the Christians?  Do they now believe in Christ? Do the Muslims embrace us with love and truthfulness? Did the Pope of Rome accept errors of  φιλιοκδε and αλαθιτο and the many other heresies that they have?  Did they return the Holy Relics and treasures they stole from Constantinople?  No. It’s still in the Vatican. The Vatican is it’s own country now.  With a king, who is also their priest, the Pope of Rome.
Now we have a greater enemy, the οίκουμενισμὀς, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They have started their works long ago, but the last 25 years they have been shamelessly working out in the open.  Anyone with a little time can see this on television, on you tube, in books and in the news paper.  We see the Pope of Rome, the Patriarch in Constantinople, the Jews, the Muslims, and everyone else of all religions coming together in Liturgy.
We see the Protestants, who everyday continue to split.  They are the enemy of the Holy Mother of God and the Holy Saints of our church, who do not accept the icons, do not accept the Saints and do not accept the Mother of God.  I am asking you if someone hates your brothers and your mother, can you accept him as your brother and into your house of worship?
The Pope of Rome is saying our church is ill because we have not united with him.  That statement is unacceptable!  Our God is the God of the living, not the God of the dead. The Holy Saints of the church are alive in the Orthodox Church. All the faithful know of miracles of the Orthodox Church.  They have either witnessed them themselves or know someone close to them who has.  I myself, have walked with Saint Dionysios of Zakynthos at the tender age of 10 years old, and, for that reason alone I can not stand to listen to a heretic who says we have an ill church.
In Greece I know that we have many Παραδοσιακους Πατερες.  I am going to name a few,  Avgustinos Kandiotis, Archilles Savas and Athnasios Mytilinaos. They are asleep now. The last 50 years they have spoken about ecumenismo and papismo. In life there are Theodoros Zisis, Nicholaos Manolis,  Athanasios Giousmas, Metropolitan Serafim  and many others, who continue to talk about the enemies of Orthodoxy.  We saw that in Constantinople, the Psalti sung in Liturgy and honored the last two Popes of Rome to ‘continue teaching and preaching the word of truth’.  So now we believe the pope of Rome has the grace of the Holy Spirit to teach the word of truth? The Holy Fathers have anathematized them long ago… but now all of the sudden they found holiness? Is that what we are to believe?
The Vatican is a dictatorship. The subjects of the Pope are slaves with no say in the matters of their faith.  In Orthodoxy there is democracy and freedom. The Patriarch is not the ruler of Orthodoxy.  He is a shepherd leading his flock.  In Greece we say the mind and the conscience of the Church is, was, and always will be the people. No one can change the dogma and cannons of the Church.  No one can go against the Holy Fathers.  If the dogma of faith is in danger, every Orthodox Christian has the holy duty to defend the truth of the Bible, the Word of God. This is why we have so many saints in Orthodoxy.  We were born Orthodox Christians from grace.   We will die Orthodox Christians confessing the true faith that the Holy Fathers teach us.  You can not sacrifice the truth, just because someone may suffer because of the truth.
I don’t think the Synod in Crete was holy because it was not with the cannons of Orthodoxy. They said that there are other churches with the grace of the Holy Spirit and other baptisms that are outside of the Orthodox Church of God. There were some present who could not vote,  and others who could vote, who chose not to. The Patriarch told us to submit to and honor their decisions. Christ told us that the sheep know the voice of their shepherd and they follow him.  I believe the people of Orthodoxy are paradosiakos and paterikos,  and they will not follow a strange and heretistic voice.  In the 2000 years we have had many heretic Patriarchs and Archbishops  in Orthodoxy.   In some cases it went on for years.  But, Orthodoxy always triumphs. Why are these things happening?  Maybe our Lord allows it so we can learn from our history, so we do not become mislead. The antichrist comes to mislead us from the truth and love of God, the love that gives us the power to endure all calamities and to stay faithful until our death, so he may give us the crown of glory.
Today we see in Europe that they have συλιτουργια Orthodoxon Papikon, and Protestant, which is something that is against the cannons of the Holy Fathers.  We should not forget that the liturgy finished with the priest saying “With the blessings of our Holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy and save us”.   How can we ask for their blessing if we are doing something they have directly said is a heresy?
The Ahepa is an organization found in every Orthodox church in America.  This organization is not an orthodox syllogos.  According to the priests in Greece they are masoni.  The former president of the United States, George H. Bush, named the Ahepa in his speech in 1991 as one of the thousand points of light in the new world order.
Communion in the Church is secure when you have communion in the faith and truth that everyone believes.  Unity in the Truth was taught by our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Apostles.  The Holy Fathers in the Holy Ecumenical Synods also confirmed this;  you can not believe in unity if you disagree in dogma and cannons of faith.
“The Doors, the Doors, at Wisdom we pray” the priest says just before we say the Nicene Creed. In one God in Trinity,  one Church, one Baptism.  Why does it say “the doors, the doors”?  Because we do not want to be together with those who do not believe, so we close the doors and only the faithful stay inside the church to say the Nicene creed. This is the faith I was taught by the priest and my parents in my small town in Chios. This is the faith I will have until our Lord Jesus Christ calls me.
Agios  Gregorios of Palamas, the biggest theologian of the second millennium says there are three different types of atheism.  The first is he who does not believe in God’s existence, the second, the heretics who try to destroy the Orthodox belief and the third is when we hear the atheists and heretics speak, and we stay quiet.
Agios Athanasios tells us not to obey a priest who scandalizes the church, because if you follow him, it is a sure thing that you will follow him to the fires of hell.  We know that we must obey the clergy when they teach the truth; if an issue of faith arises we must question it.  How do we know if we are following the right path? It’s simple! The readings of the Holy Fathers point us in the right direction. We will never follow someone who goes against the cannons of the Synods and the teachings of the Holy Fathers of the Orthodox Church.
With all due respect, I want to ask a few questions about the Orthodox Church of America.  Does it believe in the works of the Patriarch Bartholomew? Does it believe in the Pope of Rome’s Holiness? Does it believe that the baptism of the Catholics and the Protestants is equal to ours? Do the other “Christian” churches have grace? Do they have Mysteries? Do they save souls? Those are the questions I have for the Orthodox Church of America, for the people to know who shepherds them and the path they are following.  The Holy Apostle Paul says to ask questions and confirm so we can discern the truth. And he did this for the love he had for us.
I would like to thank you for the time and consideration you have given me with my current and previous letter.  I look forward to hearing from you.
Με αδελφική αγάπη και σεβασμό,
Dimitrios Pantelaras
